Due to some family issues that came up very suddenly, I have to cancel my Home Interiors party for tonight. I’m so sorry y’all. It couldn’t be avoided.
What Was I Thinking?! April 18, 2008
I’m having a party. A Home Interiors party. That’s cool because I love their stuff and haven’t had one of these parties in about 10 years or so. Also, I can’t afford to buy everything I want, so I have to get a little help from my friends. As they buy for themselves, I get a nice discount and free stuff. Nice.
Here’s the problem…..I have to really clean my house. Okay, my house is clean, sort of. By that I mean that it’s up to health codes. But there are 8 people living in this house. Six of those people are kids. C’mon, surely you didn’t think my house was spotless?!
I’ve got something going against me today too. Jack is on his A game. If you’ve met my Jack, you know what I mean. He’s my 2yr old bundle of joy. He’s also the reason the I can’t keep eggs in the house (he breaks them on the floor), turtles in the tank (won’t go into that again), or anything breakable anywhere. It’s a good thing he’s cute.
I don’t know why I thought having a Home Interiors party at my house was a good idea. What was I thinking?!?!?!?
But here’s a little something fun for you…..I’d love for you to come to my party!
Not only will you have the opportunity to purchase some lovely items for your home, but you’ll also get to see just how badly I need to get it together. People say to me all the time, “I don’t know how you do it all.” Well, come by my house tonight and you’ll get the obvious answer. I don’t.
Stretching April 18, 2008

Here’s my entry for this week’s Creative Chaos.
For those who don’t already know, Heart of Worship is a brand spankin’ new church. We’ve tripled in size in the last few months and now we’re growing even faster. God is shaking things up in our corner of the world and we’re all standing back in amazement, saying “WOW!”
During this time, I have been stretched in ways I never expected. Being a new church, we’ve had to focus on practical things (church structure, buying a building, etc) and that’s been difficult for me. My brain just doesn’t operate on that level. But now that all those things are firmly in place, we’re getting to venture into creative persuits. Ah, now I’m really being stretched.
One new thing we’re going to start doing at HOW is making our own videos. This is a great way to custom tailor things to meet our specific needs. But it’s our first time doing it, so I’m a bit nervous. Lighting, video, editing….these are all new to me. But I’m excited about the learning process and looking forward to the hands on stuff.
So if anyone’s got any tips on successful video creating & editing, I would really appreciate the input. What’s worked for you? What didn’t work? What made you say, “Wow that was awesome!” or “Yeah, I’ll never do that again.”?
